10Th May 2017

10th May 2017 will go down as a very busy day ! Here's why :

So, our morning started as normal, with the collection from school of our Holsworthy students.

We fed the chickens, cleaned them out, collected eggs, moved them to fresh grass.  We fed the bull. Then the 4 Judges from the Devon farm Business Awards turned up for an hour.  The students continued with their job of feeding/cleaning out/bedding up the calves whilst Andrew and I talked to the judges.  After they left, Oli the vet from Penbode arrived and we did health checks on some of the calves. Very glad we did as 2 needed some injections for pneumonia, even though they were not showing signs. Then it was time to return the students back to school.

The lorry then turned up to take the 11 store cattle we sold off to their new home in Lifton.

A quick lunch followed, then Class 4 of Bradworthy Primary turned up for their Orienteering afternoon.

The calves were fed again, the dog walked, all the work finished then we were off out to tea as it was Andrew and I's 14th Wedding Anniversary.

The day was amazing, the weather was gorgeous and the sunset over the beach was fantastic. A great day !
