Barn Owl Box has arrived.

We are now owners of a very large and lovely Barn Owl Box, thanks to the North Devon Biosphere group.

Again, just before Christmas, we had our Barn Owl Box delivered and installed by Phil Metcalfe and Tom Hinds.

We took a farm walk to establish where would be the best place for the box and decided on an Ash tree on the hedge between 2 ares of newly planted woodland.  There was a natural fork in the tree on which the box fitted very nicely.  We have seen Barn Owls in our local vicinity and regularly hear 2 different types of Owls at night, the Barn and Tawny owls.  Its close to a stream and not far from the River Torridge, the newly planted woodland area provides shelter and a great area for feeding for the owls.

We will keep a close eye on the box to see who we get to inhabit it.
