Class 4 make their own Habitats

Wow, what a morning ! Class 4 have been back to Julians farm this morning to look at lots of different types of Habitats.

Using some great identification sheets we took a walk through 2 fields, Longland and Holland before arriving at the Culm.  The children took this walk as an opportunity to see what they could find and what makes a Habitat.  They had an A-Z sheet in which they wrote down all the different types of habitats they could see or think of.  they worked in groups of 3 or 4 to decide on an animal, real or made up, and had a container to collect all sorts of things which they could make into a habitat for their chosen animal.

We then came back to Pigs Court classroom, sorted out their containers and each group gave a quick talk on what animal they had chosen and why they had chosen what they had to make their habitat.

We also went through the A-Z sheet to see what habitats they could think of.  Class 4, you were amazing today.  You thought of so many different habitats (not quite sure on a Xylophone though Mr Lapham!!) and your behavior was excellent.  Thank you for visiting us here at Julians Farm.  We look forward to you coming again in the spring.
