Its been a busy time (again) down on Julians Farm recently. Here is a quick taster of what we have been up to and what is coming up soon.
We have weaned 20 calves, and have another 12 we are still rearing, with the help of the Welly Wednesday Care Farming students.
We have some fencing about to start on our Culm grassland.
Appledore Primary are coming out at the end of June for a Rivers Topic day, complete with Riverfly survey with the help of the Devon Wildlife Trust.
We have done our first cut clamp silage, and amazing silage it will be for the winter too ! Very happy and thanks to Charlie Brown Contractors for all their help.
The cattle are now out for summer grazing and I am sure they are enjoying all the wonderful sunshine we have had recently.
The vegetable plots are coming on really well, thanks to the care farmers.
Holsworthy Community College are coming out next week for 2 survival days, one for year 8 and one for year 9 students. Really looking forward to those!
