Farming update April 2017

The work load has yet to decrease ! Here's a quick update on whats been happening down on the farm recently.

This week saw us Pre movement TB test 11 store cattle, 6 heifers and 5 steers, ready to sell next week. We went clear which was great!

We put 45 animals through the crush and gave them all their Blackleg injection, ready to protect them this summer.

We ordered some tags which were missing and replaced them all.

We sold our last 2 cows through Kivells Market, Holsworthy. We have now changed our system, from breeding our own calves, to buying them in at 7-10 days old.

We had the vet dehorn 3 animals which we forgot to do last summer !

Andrew finished chainsawing some overhanging limbs off hedgerows so the field can be fenced.

We have started the let a few animals out into the fields.

2 Care Farming visits and an Orienteering afternoon with class 4 of Bradworthy !

And that was just this week !  oh yes, and we have got things growing in the polytunnel at last.
