Okehampton students visit market

Our Friday students took a visit to market to see some of the items coming in the the following days auction.

After our usual jobs in the morning, we took the students to Kivells Market in Holsworthy, for a challenge.

The challenge was to pick 3 lot numbers and to estimate a price that they think that item would make at the auction.

As I write, we are waiting for the prices to be emailed to us.

We also met Julian, the market manager.  He very kindly took the students around the pens, showing them the sale rings, the information boards, the dairy cattle showers, the sheep and pig pens.  One of the students made us laugh, as she thought it was like a beauty padgent for dairy cows. When we told her that was what it was like and that on show days they also get rosettes and sashes, she found it so funny !
