Scrub clearance continues

Contractors have been in to help with our Scrub Clearance work, under our Higher Level Stewardship scheme.

As part of our HLS agreement, we have some areas of Culm land that need to be cleared of scrub - Willow, Hazel, Brambles etc, anything that encroaches the ground.

Whilst Andrew has been clearing one site, we have had contractors in to clear another.  here is a photo of what they have done.

Although it doesn't look too good due to the time of year, it will look amazing in the summer and once fenced, the cattle will be able to graze it too, for the first time ever!

The clearance means that the important plant species will be able to flourish.
