Some of you may know, in the summer we entered the South West Farmer's Farming Awards competition. Well, we ended up in the top 3 for the Family Farm category. So, on Thursday evening, Andrew and I went up to Taunton, to the Somerset County Cricket Ground for the awards dinner. Here's what happened !!
After taking the wrong turning off the roundabout and having to turn around, we finally made it to the Cricket Ground for 6.30pm on Thursday night. Andrew had to wear Black Tie, so that meant Jenni could get her posh frock out ! We followed others to the Pavillion and were greeted by South West Farmer staff, with a drinks reception.
We were then requested to take our seats in the dining hall for the main event. The first awards were presented before our meal. We didn't win our category, but coming in the top 3 left us very proud. Then we had a gorgeous 3 course meal and then the remaining 3 awards were announced.
Then they surprised us all by announcing they had 3 Special Recognition Awards to present. These were awarded to a 13 year old boy as a Young farmer special award. There was also a young Dairy Farming couple who were given another special award. The third Special Recognition award went to us, which we were totally thrilled and shocked by !!
So, we would like to thank all our supporters: Roli Jones, Mole Valley, Harpers Feeds, Penbode, Kivells and of course, Bradworthy Primary Academy and Holsworthy Community College.
This is definitely a joint team effort, so thank you.
